The article provides a comprehensive analysis of international transport logistics through the lens of managerial decision-making under the conditions of armed conflicts and economic sanctions. It highlights how geopolitical disruptions fundamentally reshape the configuration of global supply chains, leading to rerouting of transportation corridors, a significant increase in logistical costs, heightened security threats to carriers, and destabilization of established trade networks. The study emphasizes that these challenges require proactive and well-structured managerial responses aimed at mitigating risks, ensuring continuity of operations, and maintaining competitiveness in international markets.
The research investigates the transformation of transport and logistics systems by examining both external constraints – such as the destruction of infrastructure, blockade of maritime ports, and restrictions in access to foreign markets – and internal managerial factors, including the ability of companies and governments to adapt their strategies to rapidly changing conditions. Special attention is given to the role of managerial decisions in enhancing the resilience of logistics systems by diversifying transport corridors, integrating digital monitoring and risk management tools, strengthening cross-border cooperation, and promoting the development of regional transport alliances.
The article also proposes a set of recommendations for policymakers, logistics operators, and international organizations on how to design adaptive strategies that balance efficiency, security, and sustainability of transportation in crisis environments. These recommendations include the introduction of flexible route planning, investment in multimodal infrastructure, fostering innovation in digital logistics platforms, and aligning national regulatory frameworks with international legal instruments. By addressing these issues, the study contributes to the academic debate on transport logistics resilience and provides practical guidance for supporting international trade and economic stability in periods of geopolitical turbulence.
