Artificial intelligence in business organization management: benefits and challenges

This study explores the specific features of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into the management of business organizations through a comparative perspective, focusing on both international practices and the Ukrainian context. The study aims to analyse and evaluate the key opportunities and potential challenges that arise in the implementation of AI systems in strategic and operational management processes, as well as to substantiate priority directions for developing an effective management model capable of ensuring a significant increase in productivity, adaptive flexibility, organizational resilience, and strategic competitiveness of modern business organizations under the dynamic conditions of the digital economy.
The advantages of applying artificial intelligence in business management processes are analysed across three key dimensions: strategic management, operational efficiency, and human capital development. Drawing on examples from global and Ukrainian companies, the study demonstrates the role of AI in optimizing financial decision-making, logistics, and HR processes. Particular attention is given to the transformation of the managerial role – from performing routine control functions to enhancing managerial cognition, where AI is positioned not as a substitute for human decision-makers but as a strategic advisor that enables the transition to proactive management. It is argued that the use of intelligent systems constitutes a critical tool for strengthening organizational competitiveness while simultaneously requiring a systematic assessment of associated risks and challenges.
The study concludes that sustainable competitive advantage is formed not merely through the adoption of technology itself, but through an organization’s capacity to strategically manage emerging opportunities and threats by adapting organizational structures and implementing hybrid management models (Human-in-the-Loop). Such models ensure the integration of the analytical capabilities of AI algorithms with human intuition and ethical responsibility, thereby providing a foundation for the long-term viability of business organizations.
