The inventory management at the enterprise based on the logistics approach

Recently the problem of the rational manufacturing resources management has a great influence on the enterprises’ activity. This fact in the context of the unstable situation in the country and tough market competition causes the article topicality. This article topic is also relevant because of the determinative influence of the inventory management quality on the enterprises’ competitiveness and their financial results. The improving inventory management process should include the creation of the cost efficiency reserves, the improvement of the products quality and the reduction of the production costs.
Purpose. The subject of the study is the economic relations developed in the process of the inventory management at the enterprise. The purpose of the paper is to determine the scientific-grounded proposals for the inventory management improving at the enterprises.
Design/methodology/approach. The basic principles of this research are the causality and objectivity principles, systematic and comparative methods, institutional and structural-functional approach.
Findings. In this article the application of the logistics approach to the inventory management at the enterprises is suggested. Also the possible inventory management systems that can be used in the practical activity are described. Today the main conceptual terms of logistics in the field of the inventory management are:
- the systematic approach implementation in the process of the logistical tasks solution;
- the implementation of the approach based on the economic compromises in the decision-making process;
- the cost accounting over the whole period of the supply chain;
- the focusing on the logistics approaches in the inventory management as the factor of the competitiveness increasing.
Research limitations/implications. The scientific significance of the article consists in the research of the possible ways of the inventory management system development at the domestic enterprises.
Originality/value. The suggested in this article measures will further the increase of the Ukrainian enterprises’ competitiveness and will multiply their financial results. The implementation of the inventory management systems based on the logistics approach will secure the uninterrupted, mutually agreed and effective activity of the enterprises
